Heavy rainfall and floods have wrecked havoc across several areas of Balochistan in the past few days. Bolan, jaffarabad, Khuzdar, Lasbela, Mastung, Noshki and Sohbatpur districts have incurred losses of life and property. Houses destroyed, population displaced, highways closed, bridges damaged and canals have been breached reflecting the true face of development that the State and Provincial Government keep bragging about. After the yesterday rainfall, the two main highways N-65 at Bolan and N-40 at Noshki faced closure resulting in traffic jams. Houses were damaged in Mastung with 10 injured and a women swept away by flood. Khuzdar has been also hit by heavy rainfall which has inundated several villages. Severe damages have been incurred in parts of Nasirabad Division with breaches in three canals that has swept away 31 villages and affected a population of more than 25 thousand.
