Food Protection Program Campaign Imagine waking up every morning worried about where the next meal is going to come from for you and your family. Imagine going to bed hungry every single night having barely eaten that day. Imagine watching your child cry out from hunger. This is sadly the reality for the 821 million people who go hungry every day in some of the world’s poorest communities. Migrating, especially when fleeing war in one’s home country and being separated from loved ones, is an incredibly challenging journey. Migration represents one of the most significant crises worldwide. Many individuals who are forced to leave their homes struggle to meet even their most basic needs, including food. Recognizing this, we provide hundreds of food parcels regularly. Food is a necessity for survival and the key to a healthy life. Without regular healthy meals, children struggle to go to school, carers struggle to work, and communities are left battling to survive. Here at RGW, we have identified over 100 refugee families and their children to be part of a food protection program. The families are currently living in tent cities in Adana Turkey. Many of the families are widows with either teen daughters, pre-teen girls, or with a very large family. The families will receive 50 to 75 kilos of food each month for a year, to help the young girls to continue their studies. RGW also will be supplying refugee women's and men's homes with over 100 kilos of basic nutritious food every month! The monthly cost of supporting our refugee families who had been forcibly removed from their homeland is only $50 per month.
